A Long Headache

The last two days have been spent fighting a forest fire of words from faceless strangers and it does not help that I do indeed have a pounding headache. I’ve been trying to undo the damage caused by a rather thoughtless individual who posted Mara’s blog on  Tomorrow.sg. May the fleas of a thousand mangy camels nestle where the sun does not shine!

Rants aside, I realised that trying to curb the voyeuristic curiosity of Singaporeans is a task worthy of Hercules. And since I so do not have the body of a greek god, I have pretty much given up.

On the flipside. I did manage to get in touch with LX (the father of Mireia). He felt compelled to plug his side of the story, which is really unfortunate as it just became more swill for the curio-swines.

So I took a chance and asked him to send me an email - which he did.

I took the opportunity to declare my involvement in this affair.

Even though I cannot agree with his decisions, I am neither going to judge nor comment on his character. Neither am I going to be an arbitrator and fact-corrector betweeen the two parties. I can hear the ghosts of Camp David and the Oslo agreement laughing at my quixotic ambitions.

Instead I’ll work towards silencing the publicity which, apart from the pigs, is helpful to no one. And please - if any one tries to preach to me about the public’s right to know, I’m gonna give them such a swift wedgie that they are gonna experience rope burn in a most sensitive area.

And now, off to ZaZaland with two Panadols.
